Houseboat Check-in – Alleppey
Your romantic journey begins as you check in to your private houseboat at Rainbow Boatman’s Country in Alleppey by 12:00 noon. Cruise through the iconic Punnamada Lake, known for the Nehru Trophy Boat Race, and glide into the scenic expanse of Vembanad Lake. Soak in the enchanting beauty of Kerala’s backwaters as you begin your memorable voyage. Overnight stay on the houseboat.
Wedding Ceremony on the Houseboat – Alleppey
Today is the most special day of your journey. Cruise through the SNDP Canal to arrive in Alleppey where preparations begin for your traditional Kerala wedding. Dress in authentic attire—sari for the bride and mundu/juba for the groom. The wedding takes place at 11:30 AM in a beautifully decorated mandapam on the houseboat, accompanied by nadaswaram music and a temple priest conducting the rituals. The ‘thalikettu’ (tying of the sacred thread) is performed at 12:00 noon.
After the ceremony, enjoy a grand Kerala Sadya, a traditional vegetarian feast served on banana leaves. Post lunch, the houseboat sets sail again toward the romantic island of Pathiramanal. In the evening, delight in live instrumental music followed by a special candlelight dinner with a curated seafood menu. Overnight on the houseboat.
Kumarakom – Vattakayal
Cruise to Kumarakom and visit the renowned Bird Sanctuary, a haven for nature lovers. Later, sail through C-Block and experience a peaceful village walk where you can observe traditional fishing techniques. The day ends anchored at the serene Vattakayal backwaters. Overnight on the houseboat.
Kumarakom – Thottappally
